eel_001 Axiotronic - "Yellow Cocktail Music" - 2005
If this album resembles any sort of cocktail music, It’s definitely something from an alternate timeline
where quasi-early 80’s retro-futuristic lounges, rule all social scenes. It’s the kind of lounge that hovers
above Earth in a glass-dome ship, making astronauts of its passengers. A ship, where the cockpit was
built with analog dials, switches, levers, and illuminating buttons. It’s a place where you can hear
color and taste sound. Perhaps that is where Axiotronic planned on taking the listener with this debut
album, so get a ticket and enjoy the ride. Stay as long as you like, its peaceful there, and happy hour
is about to begin. Myspace users tend to say this album sounds like dreaming. We think so too.

Beginning a few years back, tracks from this album made their way around the Philadelphia DJ scene.
Since then, people affiliated with Phreakon, their friends, and their friends-friends, have repeatedly asked
when a sophomore effort might come their way. So far, nothing is in the works, so this CD is all that
Phreakon has available. This album was made sampling timeless jazz classics, and combined with live
playing, creating some very thin lines between hip-hop jazz, acid jazz, and trip-hop. If the Chop Shop
were to be served coffee by DJ Shadow, in an Amsterdam smoke shop while chatting with St.Germain,
they’d probably agree that their combined love child would sound a hell of a lot like Phreakon.

Whether it’s live electricity running through your veins, a rip tide uncontrollably sweeping you past the
breakers, or a simple explanation of up-to-date, “Current” lives up to its name. This is the second full-
length release from Axiotronic. “Current” is way more energetic than its predecessor “Yellow Cocktail
Music”, and still maintains the core elements and sounds that make Axiotronic what it is…damn good
ambient electropop. While myspace users described the last album as dreaming, this will most likely
be described as waking up. “Current” is also consistent upon a theme, and is sure to be labeled a good
album from start to finish. Get Swept!

Finally! A full-length release from Alka. If any electronic ambient album should be labeled elite, this
is one of them. Blissful melodies, sharp and innovative rhythm work, and atmospheres bigger than the
universe are all stuffed into these 12 songs. Very reminiscent of old Future Sound of London,
Arovane, Plaid, etc., but in a fresh new cutting edge way.
Not familiar with A Study In Her? Get with it! This is their 4th full-length album, and definitely their
best effort so far. Featuring ex-members of This Radiant Boy, Jenn Hitt, and Supersystem, we're
dealing with a sharp crew of rockers. There is a fine line blend of in your face indie rock and
electronica, that is seemless, exciting, and entertaining throughout. Check out this album and find
out why this artist has been stuck in cheesesteak-land for a whole 'nother planetary spin 'round the
block.

R9-001 CD Junobot - "The Nature Of Technology" - 2005
Junobot appeared on episode one of Electronic Eel radio. If you like your synthpop very analogish
and dancy, Junobot has put together some fun songs you can smile and dance the robot with from
start to finish. Along the lines of programmed singer/songwriter music with robotic tendencies!
Same as above, Aviator Lane sent us copies of his follow-up E.P. to "Today The Hills Are Closed".
These also came from down under, and contain 5 more heartfelt singer/songwriter tracks with a touch of
electronica. These are also not available in the U.S.
"Lengthways We'll Run" was featured on episode one of Electronic Eel radio. We like this e.p. a lot!
Mike from Aviator Lane was kind enough to send some copies of "Today The Hills Are Closed' for fans
he may have picked up from our podcast. These came up all the way from Australia, and are not
available in the U.S. This is Aviator Lane's debut CD.
This is A Study In Her's third full-length album, and boasts much more of their classic electronic
sound. Track 2 was featured on Electronic Eel Radio episode 3, and this album has led our label to
where we are with them today. Due to a previous incident, copies of this album are rare. We're lucky
to have it available at all, and we only have a handful. When they are gone, they are G O N E!

Are you a fan of Alka? This is the famous Nothing Concrete sampler that featured Alka as well as
some other electronic artists from around the world. Label owner Roger O'Donnell of The Cure, put
together this great and overlooked collection of indie underground electronica. This is a "MUST
HAVE" album in any electronic collection. While some of these artists still remain relatively unknown,
this comp offers a sampling of great electronic music talent worldwide. The great artists on this
line-up are: Roger O'Donnell, Sensory Factory, Alka, Goddamn Electric Bill, The Maybe, Dead Waiter,
Pale Amber Glow, Erin Lang, Ecce, and Somnolent.
